Nightingale Education Group Honored as Top Utah Company Championing Women

SALT LAKE CITY, SEPT. 2, 2026 — Nightingale Education Group, has been named one of Utah's 100 Companies Championing Women by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and the Utah Women & Leadership Project as part of the state’s “Inspire in Utah" initiative.

The annual recognition celebrates 100 Utah companies for family-friendly policies and women-specific initiatives that advance the recruiting, hiring, retention and advancement of women employees, managers and leaders.

“With women representing 79% of our workforce, Nightingale Education Group recognizes the importance of investing in policies that expand access to meaningful career opportunities,” said Mike Sorensen, Nightingale Education Group’s chief collaborator experience officer. “When we invest in the women, who make up the majority of our workforce, we’re not just building stronger careers, we’re strengthening our ability to close health equity gaps and further build the nursing workforce our communities need.”

Nightingale Education Group has been recognized for excellence in five areas.

• Remote Work and Flexibility: As a distance learning institution, Nightingale views its remote work and flexible work arrangements as more than an employee benefit. It is a strategic investment in advancing opportunities for women in and out of the workplace.
• Tuition Reimbursement: Full-time employees with one year of service can receive up to $5,250 annually toward undergraduate, graduate or terminal degree coursework related to their role. Nightingale invested $5.5 million in employee development in 2025.
• Diversity in Mid-level and Senior Leadership: Women hold six of 13 seats on Nightingale's Executive Council and four of seven seats on its Board of Directors, including the board chair.
• Pay Equity: Nightingale recently announced raising their minimum wage to $27 an hour and through continually reviewing compensation practices, promotes fairness and transparency across the organization.
• Women-Specific Professional Development: Nightingale offers coaching and leadership programs for women, including executive coaching through the University of California, Berkeley, designed to build strategic leadership skills and executive presence.

Together, these efforts reflect Nightingale's broader commitment to building an equitable, people-centered workplace where women can grow into positions of leadership and influence.
