Nightingale Education Group Welcomes Two New Board Members

Nightingale Education Group, a nationwide leader in nursing education and workforce development, announced the addition of Monica Rivera, MD, MPH, and Ed Ashley to its Board of Managers.

"Monica and Ed bring a wealth of knowledge in healthcare, education, and strategic development. We are thrilled to welcome them to our Board of Managers.” said Nightingale Education Group Chief Executive Officer Mikhail Shneyder. "Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and expand access to quality nursing education and workforce development." Monica Rivera, MD, MPH, has spent her career committed to enhancing healthcare access and health education. She has played significant roles in telehealth development in the U.S. and Mexico. Rivera held leadership positions at Mass General Brigham and most recently served as Head of Solutioning and RFP Writing for UnitedHealthcare's Medicaid vertical where she oversaw the organization's solutions strategy. She earned her medical degree from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a master's in public health from Harvard School of Public Health, where she also is a member of the faculty.

Ed Ashley brings more than three decades of experience in business, technology, and academia. He has served as Chief Financial Officer for two universities and has worked as a management consultant for several Fortune 100 companies. For more than 25 years, Ashley has also taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses, including Strategic Management and Analytics courses. Ashley holds a Master of Business Administration from California State University and completed the executive program at Stanford University.

Rivera and Ashley began their board terms on Jan. 1, 2024.
