The accredited RN-to-BSN Program is designed for working professionals who want to elevate healthcare. Our aim is to advance your nursing skills and improve healthcare delivery.

Nightingale College enrolls all qualified candidates into the next available semester, and the Program can be completed in 3 semesters or 12 months. The required experiential learning hours are dedicated to the Community Health and Capstone Projects.

The RN-to-BSN Program is designed to further develop skills, reasoning, and attributes of licensed professional registered nurses (RNs).

The Program allows registered nurses to further their education in order to develop skills and reasoning advanced from an ADN competency level. As employers are divulging the benefits of having BSN-prepared bedside nurses, it is a necessity for RNs to continue their education in order to provide quality patient safety and care in diverse areas of care and environments.

 

 

The RN-to-BSN Program curriculum is designed to challenge nurses to reach advanced levels of critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership, while implementing what is being learned on a day-to-day basis at work. The RN-to-BSN Program is a distance program, meaning all didactic instruction is delivered via online learning modalities. 

The Program allows registered nurses to further their education in order to develop skills and reasoning more advanced. As employers are divulging the benefits of having BSN-prepared bedside nurses, it is a necessity for RNs to continue their education in order to provide quality patient safety and care in diverse areas of care and environments.

A total of 120 semester credits are required for graduation, consisting of 24 semester credits of upper-division nursing coursework. Learners complete the didactic section of the program online, eliminating the need to travel to a location for class.

Program Tuition Fees and Financial Aid

Financial Aid (FA) staff will work individually with prospective learners to ensure that options for paying the cost of their education are explored. All financial arrangements must be made prior to the first day of class, and learners must meet all financial aid requirements at the time of graduation for release of transcripts, diploma, and participation in the commencement ceremony. The learner and his/her family have the responsibility for planning and paying for college. Financial Aid includes resources such as:

• institutional, state, and Federal Student Aid (FSA)

Scholarships and Resources

Nightingale College understands the importance of pursing a BSN degree and offers a few scholarships that can be applied to your student account when enrolled in the Program. All applicants are required to meet with the Financial Aid Department to review the individual financial opportunity.

Nightingale College Alumni Tuition Reduction

A tuition waiver of $50 per semester credit will be applied to the accounts of the College’s BSN and RN to BSN Degree graduates at the time tuition is charged, and will be awarded after graduation.

• How many credits do you need for the BSN degree?

  A total of one hundred twenty (120) semester credits are required for the conferral of the BSN degree. Upon enrollment, learners are granted forty-eight (48) semester credits of core pre-licensure nursing coursework pursuant to the RN licensure.

  The RN to BSN Program consists of twenty-four (24) semester credits of upper-division nursing coursework. In addition, the completion of the BSN degree requires forty-eight (48) semester credits of general education.

• How many classes does the BSN program require?

  The Program includes 9 nursing courses that is delivered over 3 semesters (12 months) for a total of 24 semester credits. The experiential learning hours required are dedicated to the Community Health and Capstone Projects that both can be completed in the learner’s own community and local facilities.

• What classes are required for a BSN degree?

  Crafted with the latest evidenced-based knowledge, the RN-to-BSN Program curriculum includes post-licensure coursework that focuses on community nursing, leadership, policy, ethics, critical care, gerontology, health promotion, disease prevention, and informatics among other key nursing concepts.

• Are there prerequisite classes?

  The College does offer prerequisites with the General Education (GE) courses. Required classes for admittance into the programs may be found in the College Catalog.

  Note: Prerequisites are defined as courses that must be completed prior to enrollment into the given course. Corequisites are defined as courses that must be completed either prior to or concurrently with the given course.

• How long does it take to get a BSN?

  The Program can be completed in as few as 12 months or 3 semesters if the required General Education (GE) courses have not been completed. If a learner has completed all GE requirements, the Program can be completed in 8 months or 2 semesters.

  Learners who hold an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing and transfer a minimum twenty-seven (27) semester credits of general education, including the required Physical Sciences credits, can complete the RN to BSN Program within three (3) semesters, or forty-eight (48) weeks of instruction.

  Nightingale College’s RN-to-BSN Program has 3 start dates per year that enroll in the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.

• Can you get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Online?

  The RN-to-BSN Program utilizes distance delivery of instruction, where learners engage in online didactic and capstone project experiences in community nursing, leadership, policy, ethics, critical care, gerontology, health promotion, disease prevention, informatics, and other key nursing concepts.

  The curriculum is specifically constructed to promote career mobility in nursing. Upon satisfactory completion of the prescribed Program Curriculum, the learner will earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree.

  Note: The Program only enrolls residents in states where it is fully authorized. If a learner enrolls in the Program and subsequently moves to a state where the Program is not authorized, he/she will not be able to continue being enrolled until such authorization is obtained. Learners must notify the Program immediately upon relocation.

• How hard is it to get a BSN degree?
  According to the grading system and grading scale, a passing grade of at least “C” or higher is required in all courses. Completion of all learning activities, as prescribed by a course syllabus, including assignments, quizzes, and remediation, is required to pass the course. Failure to complete any required learning activity will result in a failure of a course. Any course with a failing grade must be repeated before progressing in the Academic Program.
• How much does the RN-to-BSN Program cost?

  Tuition for the RN-to-BSN Program is $400 per semester credit. Tuition does not include the nonrefundable application fee, that is $150. The College reserves the right to change its tuition and fees at any time, with a 30-day notice.
